Azeroth DB
Terms of Service
The agreement that governs your use of Azeroth DB, its accounts, the content you publish and World Recorder.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the operator of wowdb.wiki ("we", "us") and govern your use of wowdb.wiki, its tools, accounts, published content, downloads and interfaces (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these Terms.
2. The Service
The Service is a database of the game World of Warcraft: Forever with player tools, news, guides and community features. It is provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, with or without notice, and we are not liable to you for doing so.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for consent where you live if that is higher, to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
You sign in through a third-party provider (Google, Discord, Twitch or Steam). You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for everything done through your account on the Service. Do not share your account or World Recorder keys, and do not create accounts to evade a suspension or a limit. Tell us promptly at the address below if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, copy or download content from the Service in bulk, by automated or manual means, except through interfaces we publish for that purpose (such as sitemaps, feeds, documented APIs, this site's public JSON files and its assistant app) and within their limits; search engines may index the Service as its robots.txt allows;
- reproduce, republish or redistribute the Service's content or database, in whole or in substantial part, except as the law permits, for example as fair use or fair dealing;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls or moderation, or access parts of the Service that are not offered to you;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or networks, or introduce malware or other harmful code;
- send fabricated, altered or misleading data through World Recorder, corrections or any other contribution;
- post content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing or threatening, that discloses another person's private information, or that is spam or advertising;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your connection with any person or the Service;
- use the Service in breach of applicable law.
5. Your content
"Your content" means the builds, comments, screenshots, likes and World Recorder uploads you submit to the Service. You keep ownership of it.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, format, publish, display and distribute your content for operating, improving and promoting the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content other players have already copied into their own plans, World Recorder observations already incorporated into the database, and copies kept in backups for a limited time.
Content you publish is visible to everyone. Other players may view and link it, and may copy a published build into their own plan and change it.
You confirm that you own your content or have the rights needed to grant this licence, and that it does not break these Terms or infringe anyone's rights.
6. World Recorder
World Recorder, its addon and its uploader are optional downloads. Installing and running them is your decision and at your own risk. Uploads are linked to your account through the key you approve when you link a computer, and you can unlink a computer at any time.
Game observations you upload may be checked, combined with other players' observations, corrected and published as part of the database without attribution to you. We are not obliged to use any upload.
7. Moderation
We may review, refuse, edit for formatting, hide or remove any content, and may limit, suspend or close any account or ban it from contributing, at our discretion and without notice, including when we believe the content or conduct breaks these Terms or harms other players or the Service. We do not undertake to review all content and are not responsible for content posted by players.
8. Intellectual property
The Service's own text, design, software, tools and the selection and arrangement of its database belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Game names, text, images and other game material shown on the Service belong to their respective rights holders. Except for the personal, non-commercial use of the Service allowed by these Terms, no rights are granted to you.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, write to [email protected] with the content's address, a description of the work or right concerned, your contact details and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We remove content that we confirm infringes.
9. Feedback
Corrections, bug reports, suggestions, votes and other feedback are submitted through vote.wowdb.wiki, our player.vote portal. Its own terms and privacy choices apply to those submissions. If you send us suggestions or ideas about the Service, we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third-party sign-in providers and links to other websites, such as addon sites. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for them, their content or their availability.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service, its data, tools and downloads are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Game data can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and tool results are estimates; check anything important in the game.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, game progress, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if we were told such damage was possible. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero, or to the lowest amount the law allows if it does not allow a limit of zero.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud or, where applicable, for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, made by third parties and arising from your content or your breach of these Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account as the Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or end your access at any time if you break these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 5 (for the licence that survives), 8 and 11 to 16 continue after termination.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice on the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. General
These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, it is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor operator of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
17. Contact
