Ruins of Lordaeron
Requires level 15Quests: level 21–22
Horde questing groups prepare in Brill, Silverpine and Undercity, while Alliance groups find relic and recovery quests inside the ruins. Begin with Witherfang in King's Alley, choose which city events and patrols to clear, then finish with Rath'mael.

Preparation
Before leaving Brill, take The Wrath of Rath'mael from Deathguard Kristof. Defeating Rath'mael is its objective, so complete any side encounters before the final fight.
For the Horde quest route, take A Frightened Request before entering the ruins. Investigate Edward Heartweaver's disappearance in Lordaeron Graveyard during the run.
In Undercity, take Light's Justice from Morbin Lightbane before starting the clear. Collect 25 Intact Limbs inside the ruins and return them there.
Take The New Plague from Theodore Griffs in Undercity before fighting Witherfang. Recover the Highly Toxic Strain from Witherfang for the turn-in.
On the Alliance route, speak with Captain Truman inside the ruins for Abominable Creatures. Bring the Head of the Baron back to Captain Truman.
For Bloodied Insignia, collect 10 Bloodied Insignias during the clear and take them to General Marcus Jonathan in Stormwind City. This quest starts inside the ruins.
In Lordaeron Graveyard, look for the Blood-Stained Letter that starts Remember That I Love You. Take it to Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind City after the run.
For the Stormwind Crest of Lordaeron quest, recover the Crest of Lordaeron inside the ruins and take it to Lady Dena Kennedy in Stormwind City.
For the Undercity Crest of Lordaeron quest, recover the Crest of Lordaeron inside the ruins and take it to Oran Snakewrithe in Undercity.
If you obtain the Abominable Head, accept Unending Torment from it and take the head to Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity.
King's Alley
Pull the alley patrols back into cleared ground instead of advancing into the next group. Clear Witherfang's patrol path before engaging the boss and its escorts; focus Witherfang first so Leech Poison stops restoring its health.
Witherfang tests whether the group can isolate its alley patrol and prevent Leech Poison from feeding health back to the boss while its escorts remain active.
Abilities

Leech Poison
Drains 15 health from an enemy every 5 sec. over 40 seconds, transferring it to the caster.
Remove Leech Poison if your group can cleanse poisons; its health drain heals Witherfang. Focus the boss before its escorts.
Tank- Bring Witherfang and its escorts into the cleared part of King's Alley, away from the next patrol, while the group focuses Witherfang.
Healer- Watch the tank for Leech Poison. Remove it if you can cleanse poisons; healing through it alone lets Witherfang regain health.
Damage- Kill Witherfang before switching to its escorts. If you provide poison removal, cleanse Leech Poison so the boss stops recovering health during that focus.
Loot
Ruins of Lordaeron
Beyond King's Alley, choose the side encounters before finishing with Rath'mael. Approach the market statue from Lordamere Overlook for The Abandoned's wave event. Viktor the Vile is optional: the chimney in the house southwest of the overlook starts the waves that bring the boss out, so recover health and mana before touching it. Clear nearby groups before engaging Bjork's central patrol rather than combining the fights.
The Abandoned follows the market statue's waves and tests whether the group can stop Life Drain while Frost Nova roots nearby players.
Abilities

Frost Nova
Inflicts Frost damage to nearby enemies, immobilizing them for up to 8 seconds.
Frost Nova roots nearby enemies. Healers and ranged damage should keep back from The Abandoned rather than joining the tank in its reach.

Life Drain
Use a stun as Life Drain begins. Health taken from its target returns to The Abandoned, so letting it continue also prolongs the fight.
Tank- Pick up The Abandoned when the statue waves end. If you have a stun, hold it for the start of Life Drain instead of spending it as the boss arrives.
Healer- Stand back from The Abandoned so Frost Nova does not root you beside the tank. Keep the Life Drain target alive while the group stops the cast.
Damage- Reserve a stun for Life Drain. Ranged players should stay back from Frost Nova rather than moving beside the tank to attack.
Loot
The Butcher
Rath'mael
Elite UndeadRath'mael is the necromancer sought by The Wrath of Rath'mael; the fight centers on limiting Flamestrike and avoiding its target area.
Abilities

Flamestrike
11 Fire damage dealt to all enemies in target area.
Flamestrike deals Fire damage in a target area. Move out of that area and use stuns to limit Rath'mael's opportunities to cast it.
Tank- Use a stun on Rath'mael if available to suppress Flamestrike casts; leave the target area when the fight requires repositioning.
Healer- Keep apart from the ranged group so a Flamestrike target area does not catch everyone together. Reposition out of it before healing players it hits.
Damage- Leave Flamestrike's target area rather than remaining together to finish casts. Use an available stun on Rath'mael to limit further Flamestrikes.
Loot
Lordaeron Captain
Viktor the Vile tests resource management through the chimney event, followed by a boss whose Leech Poison restores the health it drains.
Abilities

Leech Poison
Drains 15 health from an enemy every 5 sec. over 40 seconds, transferring it to the caster.
Remove Leech Poison if possible so Viktor does not regain the health it drains after the chimney waves have already spent the group's mana.
Tank- Be ready to take Viktor as soon as the chimney waves bring the boss out, before it reaches players recovering from the waves.
Healer- Preserve mana through the chimney waves for Viktor's arrival. Cleanse Leech Poison if you can so the boss stops gaining health from its target.
Damage- Keep resources for Viktor rather than spending everything on the chimney waves. Focus the boss when it arrives so Leech Poison has less time to restore its health.
Loot
Bjork tests patrol isolation and whether casters stop spending damage spells into Anti-Magic Shield.
Abilities

Anti-Magic Shield
Creates an anti-magic shell around you granting magic immunity for 3 seconds.
Anti-Magic Shield grants magic immunity for 3 seconds. Hold magic damage until it expires; physical attacks can continue.
Tank- Pull Bjork's patrol into cleared space before fighting it. Continue physical attacks during Anti-Magic Shield rather than relying on magic damage for threat.
Healer- Keep healing Bjork's target while Anti-Magic Shield pauses the casters' damage. The shield is not a break in the tank's incoming damage.
Damage- Wait out Anti-Magic Shield before committing magic damage. Physical attacks can continue while casters hold their damage spells.
